Burney/Eastern Shasta Country

Trout filled streams, spectacular falls, & scenic vistas

Scenic vistas, cool mountain air, rich agricultural land, trout-filled streams and numerous lakes combine pleasantly in Eastern Shasta Country.  Hat Creek is famous for its cool spring fed waters and abundant rainbow trout.  Subway Caves, an underground easily explored phenomenon, and numerous other unequaled attractions make eastern Shasta Country a recreation paradise.

Hidden treasures in the district include Fort Crook Museum, one of the best small museums in the region; McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, which includes spectacular Burney Falls and nearby Lake Britton; and Lassen Volcanic National Park, offering volcanic and thermal-spring attractions.
